[b]Space Shuttle Atlantis 30th Anniversary[/b] Saturday, October 3, 2015 Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Get nose-to-nose with Space Shuttle Atlantis during this event featuring a live version of the engaging video astronaut series "Tell Me A Story," ongoing showings of the new video "Reflections of Atlantis" and meet and greets and signing opportunities with Atlantis astronauts including: Jerry Ross, Mike McCulley, Bo Bobko, Charlie Walker, Bob Springer and more. Pick up a commemorative black and white photograph of Atlantis marking the 30th anniversary and get it signed by Atlantis astronauts with several opportunities throughout the day. Lithographs of the visiting astronauts are also available for purchase in the Space Shop. Later in the day, engage in the legendary stories told live by astronauts who flew aboard Atlantis during "Tell Me A Story... LIVE." During the day, make time to see "Reflections of Atlantis," a video celebrating the iconic orbiter, showing every 15 minutes in the Hubble Theater. With a breathtaking view of the orbiter just a few feet away, the video features highlights of the 33 launches and missions completed by Atlantis and her astronaut crews. All activities are included in general admission. Annual passholders are invited to participate in a personal meet and greet with Atlantis astronauts between 9 and 10:30 am. During this time, passholders can also be the first to watch "Reflections of Atlantis." Annual passes must be shown to receive entry into this event. Space Shuttle Atlantis launched Oct. 3, 1985, from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on her first mission, STS 51-J. Atlantis was also the last orbiter to land in Kennedy Space Center July 21, 2011, concluding NASA's 30-year Space Shuttle Program. Today, Atlantis is in her new home at the visitor complex displayed with her payload bay doors open inside of the Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction.
